Parrs Sewing Machines was established in 1978 by Shirley and Bruce Rutter-Parr.
It was set up after Bruce, a qualified tool-making engineer, became disillusioned by life in a large factory.
Shirley and Bruce are still at the heart of the company today.
Quilting knowledge and engineering expertise combined
Bruce prides himself on being able to repair machines that others have declared unfixable. Indeed, in thirty years of repairing sewing machines, there have been few machines that have been scrapped.
Shirley’s quilting and embroidering experience means she can provide knowledgeable advice to anyone looking to purchase a BERNINA sewing machine. She is also a great person to ask about working on your BERNINA sewing machine or overlocker.
